Turkey & Cappadocia Photography Expedition - May 2025

Join me on an exclusive 3-day photography journey through Turkey's iconic landmarks and the surreal landscapes of Cappadocia. This tour is designed for photographers of all levels who want to enhance their skills in framing, composition, and capturing breathtaking scenes. We’ll explore some of Istanbul's most iconic photo locations, enjoy the stunning Bosphorus at sunset, and embark on a hot air balloon adventure in Cappadocia. Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or a beginner, this expedition will give you the opportunity to elevate your craft and create lasting memories.

What you need to know:

Dates: May 23rd - May 26th, 2025

Price: £600 [ £200 deposit required to confirm your booking; the remaining balance can be paid all at once or in installments.]

All payments must be completed 2 weeks prior to departure.

This tour does not require a high level of physical fitness, as most locations are accessible via vehicle and short walks.

Photography workshop focusing on framing, composition, and creative techniques

  • March 24th: Arrival in Istanbul.
    Check-in to the hotel. After a brief introduction and photo briefing, we'll head out to explore the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque in the early evening light. As the sun sets, we’ll head towards the Bosphorus Canal, capturing the iconic views as the sky turns golden. We’ll board a ferry ride to photograph the city from the water during the magical sunset hour, with various cultural evens and food.

  • March 25th:
    We’ll begin the day with a visit to Galata Tower in the morning, then explore the charming streets around it. Next, we’ll head to Karaköy and Beyoğlu to capture the unique blend of historical and modern architecture.
    In the evening, we’ll catch a flight to Cappadocia.

  • March 26th:
    Early morning Hot Air Balloon Ride over the spectacular landscapes of Cappadocia, where you’ll have the chance to photograph the iconic fairy chimneys, valleys, and surreal rock formations from the sky at sunrise. Afterward, we’ll spend the day exploring the best photo locations, including Göreme, Pasabag Valley, and the Derinkuyu Underground City.

Essential Packing List:

  • Camera with manual controls (for better control of exposure)

  • Wide-angle lens (for landscapes) 

  • Telephoto lens (for capturing details or distant subjects)

  • Extra camera batteries and memory cards

  • Drone (optional but highly recommended for aerial shots in Cappadocia)

  • Appropriate power adapters for Turkey (European plug)

You don't have to be a photographer to join this trip. You can still capture memories with your phone, or if photography isn't your focus, simply enjoy the sightseeing and soak in the beauty around you.

What is the recommended clothing?

  • Comfortable walking shoes, jacket if needed. Mornings in Cappadocia can be cold, but the day can be generally warm.

Do I need a visa for Turkey?

  • Yes, you will need to arrange your own visa to enter Turkey. (around 40£) We will provide all necessary details to assist with the visa process.

What fitness level is required for this trip?

  • This trip is designed for those of all fitness levels. Most locations are accessible via short walks, though you’ll need to be able to carry your camera gear and navigate uneven surfaces at some locations.

Cancellation Policy:

  • 50% refund up to 30 days before departure.

  • 80% refund between 30 and 10 days before departure.

  • 100% non-refundable within 10 days of departure.

The Blue Mosque & Hagia Sophia

Blue Mosque is a masterpiece of Ottoman architecture. Completed in 1616, it is named after the intricate blue tiles that adorn its interior, offers a rich tapestry of photo opportunities. Hagia Sophia is a true masterpiece that blends Byzantine, Ottoman, and modern influences. Originally built as a Christian cathedral in 537 AD, it was later converted into a mosque and is now a museum

Galata Tower

The views of the Bosphorus from Galata Tower are particularly spectacular, providing the perfect backdrop for wide-angle landscape shots. Originally built in 1348 during the Genovese era, it has stood as a symbol of the city’s rich history and architectural evolution. The tower offers a perfect mix of history, architecture, and panoramic views that make it a photographer's dream.
